Colfax merchants are compelled to ship in eggs from the lower country. What’s the matter with the Palouse hens?

An advertisement reads: “Colfax Hotel, Joseph Ryan, Proprietor. The only $1.00 a day house in town. Serves the best meals for 5 cents. Beds 25 cents. Next door to Davis Stables, Colfax.”
