Makis purchase Deary ambulance

Dusty

Steve and Fran Maki have their own version of ObamaCare. Last week, Steve bought an ambulance that belonged to the town of Deary, Idaho. He had to remove the siren and the Deary sign on the side of the vehicle, but the flashing lights and police scanner still operate. It’ll make a great guide car when moving farm equipment on the highway, should quickly get them through any traffic jams at the Dusty intersection, can transport employees during harvest and, of course, is available for any personal emergency medical runs. Fran Jones has volunteered to be their on-call nurse.

Shannon and Sarah Appel traveled with the Colfax FFA to the National FFA convention in Kentucky last week. They spent four days sight-seeing in Chicago and then went on to Louisville for the three day convention. Sarah represented Washington State in the FFA Creed Speaking Division. They traveled with FFA Advisor Brian Long and members Tyson Rogers and Cody Miller.

Sunday, Nov. 10, Selbu Lutheran Church will hold their annual potluck and bazaar to raise money for their missions. The potluck and auction will follow the 10 a.m. morning worship services.
