Winds smash into Endicott

Crews were at work last Thursday morning at Endicott to remove large tree branches which were downed along the playground in front of the Endicott School. The trees were hit by strong winds which swamped Endicott during Wednesday night’s storm, Sept. 4. Trees and limbs were reportedly downed in many areas of the town.

Two of the trees in front of the school were snapped off. One snapped at about 12 feet up. It was located along the sidewalk between the two baseball fields on the east side of the school lawn area. The other tree was snapped at a higher level, about 25 feet, on the west side of the lawn near the parking lot.

A powerline along the school sidewalk was snapped during the storm and repaired by Avista.
