Colfax teachers’ union works on new contract

Contract negotiations are moving forward between the Colfax School District teachers union and district administrators.

Meeting in near-weekly increments since June, teachers union president Ross Swan has attended meetings with Colfax Superintendent Michael Morgan.

Morgan told the Colfax school board Monday night that he expects the process to be complete in August.

“Our goal is to finish up in the next two meetings,” he said.

Swan said that he is “cautiously optimistic” that an agreement will be reached by then.
