McCoy loader builders aim at mid-August start

Crews are working at full steam at the McCoy loader site to get the massive project on line by the end of the harvest season. Elmer (Bud) Riedner, who has been named manager of the new McCoy Grain Terminal LLC, said they aim to be accepting the first shipments of grain by Aug. 15.

For the first harvest season, McCoy will not be able to accept direct loads from farm harvest. Riedner envisions a break-in period of several weeks with the first train arriving for a load out around the first of September.

“This kind of a project is never a turnkey operation,” he said.
