The LaCrosse High School class of 1963 held their 50th class reunion this weekend. They attended the LaCrosse Farmers’ Festival where they rode in the parade. Their festivities continued Saturday evening with a dinner catered by Memorable Events at The Parsonage Bed and Breakfast. Class members and their spouses included Dick and Julie Ryan, Cashmere; Rod and Jeanine Bryan, LaCrosse; Morrie Camp, LaCrosse; Jan Copp Nealey and husband, Terry, Dayton; Patty Broeckel Wieber, Spokane; Gary and Rebecca Dark, Chehalis; Robbie and Myrna Kneale, Moscow; and Russell and Varian Bartlett, Spokane Valley.

Lucky and Joan Myrick drove across the state Tuesday to attend a graduation in Spanaway. On the way, they picked up Rich Myrick in Moses Lake and Robbie Myrick in Kent. They attended Deanna Myrick’s graduation from Bethel High School on the campus of Pacific Lutheran University. She is Rick’s daughter.

A family get-together followed in Deanna’s mother’s home. Lucky and Joan spent the night with their son, Mike and Rhonda in Tacoma. The Myricks returned home Wednesday.

During the weekend, from Friday through Sunday, they had their jewelry booth at a flea market-art and crafts venue in Lewiston. Larry and Di Brink and granddaughters, Ashley and Kloey, stopped at their booth for a visit.

Word has been received of the June 1 death of former resident Theda Kay Kjosnes of Renton. She was 78 and had health issues for the past year. At her request, there was a memorial tea party that celebrated her life on June 8. She is survived by her husband, John Kjosnes, at the family home; daughters, Kim of Sammamish, Kitty of Renton, and son, Grant of Alberta, Canada.

Friday, Larry and Di Brink drove to Kennewick to get their granddaughters, Ashley and Kloey, so they could spend a week here. They will attend Selbu Lutheran Church’s Vacation Bible School at the park in LaCrosse. Pastor John Cross will be presenting the Bible study.

Linda Hennigar has been attending some of her grandson, Wesley Banks’, baseball games in the Tri-Cities. On one of those trips, she also had lunch with her cousin, Elaine Stueckle Hogan. On June 7, Hennigar sang at the funeral in Deary, Idaho, for former Hay resident, Dorothy Roberts. Hennigar stayed overnight with Jack and Marilyn Roberts Hennigar and Saturday attended her great-nephew’s, Cole Thompson, baseball game in Moscow. This past Wednesday, she visited with cousins Gracia Stueckle and Elaine Hogan at the home of Goldie Foss. Gracia and Elaine stayed for several days and attended the LaCrosse Farmers’ Festival.

Denise Kendall, Tacoma, and Doreen Riedner, Genesee, spent the weekend with their father, Oscar Broeckel.

Kurt Moore, son of Steve and Carol Moore, is at Boys State in Olympia this week.

David and Phyllis Stueckle attended the Farmers’ Festival in LaCrosse Saturday. Afterward, they went to Portland for the graduation from Portland State University of grandson, Christopher Light, son of Karen and Larry Light. Light earned his B.A. in business. They also attended a fundraiser dinner and auction for grandchildren, Emmaly and Joshua Light, who will go on a 10-day mission trip with others from their church to Haiti during the first part of August. The Stueckles returned home Monday.

Saturday evening, Karen Broeckel helped celebrate Andrew Nolan’s and Jay Rubin’s birthdays at Boyer Park with Andrew Nolan, Spokane; Jay, Kathy and Bryan Rubin and Gabe Geier, Greg, Gwen and Jason Nolan, Mark and Carol Rubin, Cliff and Jeanette Nolan, Colfax, and Ken, Pam and Zach Beasley, Waitsburg.
