Battle Days marks 44th edition

The 44th Annual Rosalia Battle Days starts Friday and runs through Sunday, June 2.

Friday’s activities include drover events at the rodeo grounds, a talent show at 7 p.m. and a teen dance sponsored by the Rosalia cheerleaders from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Saturday’s festivities begin with a Scout breakfast at the fire station from 7 to 9:30 a.m., a fun run at 8 a.m. and vendors selling wares from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At 10:30 a.m. the Children’s Parade begins followed by the main parade at 11 a.m. Master of Ceremonies for the parade is Rusty McGuire, and Jacey Johnson will sing the national anthem.

Following the parade, activities include Rosalia Library book sale, a car show on Whitman Avenue, Frisbee golf, pie bingo at the fire station, drover events and 4-D barrel racing at the rodeo grounds, 3-on-3 basketball at the high school outside court, class reunions lunch at the fire station, Rosalia Garden Club plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the mini park, 4H petting zoo and flea market at Pinewood Cottage, kids’ carnival games and face painting.

On Saturday night, a family dance with music by Doug DeGon will be at the fire station from 7 to 10 p.m. Rosalia Boosters will sell concessions.

A community church service will be Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Rosalia High School gym featuring Norm Thomas and the Valley Men’s Ensemble. The R.A.C.E. softball tournament will be at the baseball field starting at 1 p.m.
