Whitman County BOARD OF EQUALIZATION

Notice is hereby given that the 2013 County Board of Equalization will convene at 10:45 a.m.

on July 15, 2013, in the Whitman County Commissioners’ Chambers, 400 N. Main Street, Colfax, Washington, and will continue in session and adjourn from time to time for a period of not less than three (3) days, and not to exceed twenty-eight (28) days.

Additional meetings will be held on August 5, 12 and 19, 2013 at 10:45 a.m.

and at other times as required, to publicly examine and equalize the assessments extended in the current year on the taxable property of said county, for taxes to be levied in the year 2014, and to correct all errors in valuation, description or qualities of property assessed by the assessor.

The owner or agent of any taxable property who feels there are inequities in their assessment or exemptions may file a petition and appear before the board at the time and place appointed.

Warren Street Reconstruction Project

Sealed bids will be received until 3:00:00 p.m, June 6th, 2013 at the Tekoa City Hall, 419 Washington St. (P.O. Box 927), Tekoa, WA, 99033, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project generally consists of the following work:

The project will reconstruct Warren Street from Crosby Street to Leslie Street.

Base Bid Schedule work consists of re-constructing approximately 1,210 linear feet of paved roadway, and constructing or repairing curb, sidewalk, drainage improvements, related appurtenances, retaining walls, and pedestrian ramps.

Fifty four (54) working days will be allowed to complete the work for project.

Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by cash, a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, payable to the City of Tekoa, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond, each in the full amount of the contract price.

This project will be funded through the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board. Neither the State of Washington nor any of its departments or employees are, or shall be, a party to any contract or subcontract resulting from this solicitation of bids. The City shall have the right to reject any or all bids not accompanied by bid security or data required by the bidding documents or a bid in any way incomplete or irregular.

Award of the construction contract is contingent upon approval by the funding agency.

Palouse River and Coulee City Railroad System (PCC) Bridge 27.7 Replacement

The Washington State Department of Transportation issued a SEPA Determination of Non-significance on May 16, 2013 for the installation of three culverts to replace a deteriorated 15-foot span open deck timber bridge. The bridge location is just south of the town of Rosalia, Whitman County, on an unnamed intermittent stream, in NW Section 23, Township 20N, Range 43E, W.M..
