Engineers signed for next four years

Tekoa city officials on April 15 selected two engineers for all projects through 2017. J.U.B. Engineers were chosen for airport and proposed truck bypass work, while Century West of Spokane is retained for all other projects.

“If you don’t do that, every time you do a project, you have to look at 20 or 30 resumes,” said Tekoa Mayor John Jaeger. “And you’ve really got to study them. It gets to be cumbersome.”

The city has worked with J.U.B. on the airport regarding runways, hangars and industrial activity for the past three years. Century West has completed various projects in Tekoa over many years.

“We’ve had a good experience with both of them,” Jaeger said. “To be fair to all these other engineers, we don’t want to say we’re looking for engineers when we’re really not.”
