President Barack Obama signed an executive order last week to authorize a commission to make recommendations to improve our elections.

Some people take it as an attempt to federalize the elections and attribute nefarious motives to the order. Others say the goals of the commission are too modest and won’t solve the real problems.

Regardless, our national elections have been a mess. Results are often questioned.
