The sunny, warmer weather these last few days dried the fields enough for farmers to start spring seeding and fertilizing. Farmers in the lower country of Whitman County are almost done with spring work while farmers in the northern parts of the county report they have barely begun work in the fields. This farmer was enjoying a nice afternoon on Tuesday as he worked a field on Prune Orchard Road near Colfax.
