Watters resigns from SEWEDA

Dick Watters has resigned as Whitman County Managing Director of the Southeast Washington Economic Development Association after four years.

“I’m at an age where I can retire,” he said.

Is he retiring then?

“Well sort of,” Watters said.

“Dick did a great job in community relations,” said Marshall Doak, Executive Director of SEWEDA, who is now the interim managing director for Whitman County. “I hope we can get someone as personable as him; we realize what an asset that is.”

Watters’ resignation was effective Jan. 31.

SEWEDA is an association serving four counties: Whitman, Asotin, Garfield and Columbia.
