Repairs set for WH&R building

A city building permit to repair damage to a corner of Whitman Health & Rehab at 1150 W. Fairview was issued Oct. 25. Compass Construction of Spokane applied for the permit to make the repairs which were estimated to cost $5,300.

The exterior corner of the building was damaged Aug. 29 when a pickup truck rolled down the incline of the Whitman Hospital parking lot which is located above the Whitman Health & Rehab building. The truck went over a curb at the edge of the lot and down a slope to crash into the southwest corner of the building. The driver told Colfax police he thought he had left the 2003 Ford pickup truck engaged in park.
