S’Mores, Jazz in Schmuck Park

Colfax area residents relaxed in the park while a jazz band assembled by Mathew Scholz, University of Idaho graduate music student from Colfax, performed in Schmuck Park Sunday evening.

Andrew Hurley, Connor Bucknell and Kendall Clinton roast their S’Mores over the park fire pit. Kellen Morgan, a 2011 Colfax grade, upper right, adjusted his drum set before playing in the second segment of the program.

Miriam “Buffy” Kruse of Garfield holds Mason DeBolt next to her son, Scott Kruse, during a break.

The concert was sponsored by the Buffy’s Brigade Relay for Life team.

Band members in the first set included Scholz, on the keyboard.

In front, from the left, are Daniel Tate and Shevin Halvorson on guitars, Mark Black on saxophone and Paul Lynch on trombone. In back are Joe Asker on bass and Landon Willson on drums.

The park concert attracted a large crowd.
