LaCrosse Farm Festival parade attracted wide range of entries

“LaCrosse on the move” was the theme for the LaCrosse Farmers’ Festival, Saturday. Felix Candelario, Nicolas Candelario, Carlos Candelario, Gunnar Aune, Blake Jones, Austin Jones, Ty Harder, Dustin Broeckel, Austin Stanley and Trey Fleming, all members of the LaCrosse Boy Scout troop, carried the American Flag and the Washington State Flag.

Singing our national anthem was Linda Hennigar.

LaCrosse Kiddie Parade entries included Tigercat fan AnaLynne Dickson, daughter of Aaron and Jen Dickson; Baby Bodyguard Zachary Cooper, son of Bryan and April Mackleit; LaCrosse’s Super Heroes, Abree and Gage Aune, sons of Leonard and Stacy Aune; Mercees, Morgan and Mikayla Martin, children of Marisa and Allen Martin; Avery and Brody Fleming, children of Loren and Melissa Fleming; Logan, Austin and McKenzie Stanley, children of Jake and Mish Stanley; Ellie and Ty Pierson, children of Chad and Karie Pierson; Relay For Life, Karly and JP Wigen, children of Pete and Brandy Wigen; Cadence and Garin Monson, children of Kent and Jessica Monson, and Derek and Darin Repp, children of Dana and Aaron Repp.

Whitman County Sheriff’s Posse was represented by Art Sager, Barbara Kinzer, Steve Camp and his granddaughter Jordan Camp.

The Grand Marshals were the LaCrosse 4H Club leaders Stacy Aune, Kim Berquist, Tricia Aune, Tawnja Miller, Jess McGregor, Wayne Dainty and Tom Cauley, as well as the swim team coach, Katie Bailey.

Other parade participants included the LaCrosse Communitry Pride swim team members Zoe Bailey, Genevieve McGregor, Tanner Fleming, Trey Fleming, Autumn Meyers, Teddy Sisk, Abby McGregor, Lillian McGregor, Shyanne Cook, Lura Potter and Sydney Berquist.

District 9 State Senator Mark Schoesler, Rep. Joe Schmick, County Commissioner Pat O’Neill, Connie O’Neill, and campaign volunteer Collin Parks as well as Bill Tensfield and Dean Kinzer, the candidates for County Commissioner, were in the parade.

Shann Kelly and Kristl Kirpes represented Reps. Susan Fagan and Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

LaCrosse High School Classes of 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992, 2002, and 2012 all participated in the parade and celebrated their reunions.

Distinguished Young Woman of Colfax Lindsay Webber as well as Deanna Aeschliman and Cacey Hall participated in the festivities.

Palouse Empire Rodeo Queen Karlie Thompson rode through on her horse, Mister.

Miss LaCrosse Anna Roberts and Princess Shayla Sisk accompanied by 2010 Miss LaCrosse Taylor Weekes also rode in the parade.

Mike Stine and Norma Gibson were LaCrosse’s Special Olympic winners.

Representing the ASB officers were President Justin Wargo, Vice President Matt Stubbs, Secretary Lindsey Miller, and Treasurer Graham BeDell.

The Rev. John Cross, new Selbu Lutheran Church pastor, rode through on his bicycle.

LaCrosse Thrift Shop Food Bank was represented by Lois Olmstead. Library Bear was represented with Summer Reading participants.

Ted Torgeson rode his 1967 Honda.

Molly Myklebust and friends represented Myklebust Farms, a fifth generation of LaCrosse pioneers.

Deputy Cornish’s wife Kelly and daughters Kaitlyn and Attlylee represented the Whitman County Sheriff’s Department.

Our state athletes this year were Justin Wargo, tennis, and Darcy Stamper and Annie Fleming, track.

Riding the Lentil Express were Pullman’s Distinguished Young Woman Shayla Robinson and Haley Gardner. The Lil’ Lentil Royalty were Sam Leeper and Claire Shelton.

The new team for Sterling Bank included Debbie Stamper, Mish Stanley, Jessica DeGon and Rusty Madsen.

Austin and Angie Zaring celebrated the day on go-carts.

General Lee jeep driven by Grant Kelso represented the Mudfest.

Closing the parade was the ambulance driven by Bill Baker and LaCrosse Fire Chief Brian Sisk with his grandson Rai-Lyn.

Chalk Art winners from Farmers Festival are 4 & Under: 1st Emily Swavely, 2nd Brody Fleming, 3rd Atylee Cornish; 5-9 Years Old:1st Maddie Asplund, 2nd Jace Holmes, 3rd Tanner Fleming; 10-15 Years Old: 1st Logan Stanley, 2nd Broc Rogers, 3rd Bryce Rogers; and 16 and Over: 1st Norma Gibson.
