Teen, adult reading begins 6th summer

Whitman County Library’s sixth annual Teen and Adult Summer Reading will start June 1 and continue August 31.

Teens are invited to read, participate online and take part in special events offered throughout the county this summer. Special events include a henna temporary tattoo workshop, a spy-training program and late nights at the library. Teens in junior high and high school will be entered for every hour of reading for the countywide grand prize and weekly drawings. The countywide teen grand prize for 2012 is an iPod Nano.

Adult requirements for summer reading are easy. Read or listen to three books and write brief reviews. Participants receive a prize upon completion and are entered in drawings for both local and countywide grand prizes.

Pre-registration is not required for either teen or adult summer reading. Entry forms and event information are available at every branch and on the website: http://www.whitco.lib.wa.us.
