Hospital Highlights: Hospital and nurses week

Our vision at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center is to be a leader in innovative, caring, personalized healthcare and we strive to be the best Critical Access Hospital in the nation.

Chances are you know someone who works at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center.

Our employees are the heart of what we do. Hospital Week is May 6th – 12th and this year coincides with Nurses’ Week.

Everyone has an important role in creating a safe, caring and comfortable environment for our patients and families. Not only do we provide excellent healthcare for our communities, our patient satisfaction scores tell us we are doing a great job maintaining a patient-centered environment.

While our clinical employees are the ones who interact with our patients, our support departments such as maintenance and environmental services, are important in sustaining a safe, comfortable physical environment.

To highlight some of our clinical employees, our OB nurses really shine in creating a family-centered birthing experience. They consistently score above the 95th percentile in patient satisfaction. Overall, our inpatients tell us that they would recommend our hospital (93rd percentile) and gave us an overall rating of care at the 96th percentile.

All of our employees consistently demonstrate our values of respect, compassion, teamwork, stewardship and trustworthiness.

Please be sure to thank our nurses as well as the rest of our employees for the commitment to caring and creating an environment that is the best it can be to receive care. I am honored that I have the privilege to work with such a committed group of employees.
