Wreck blocks Main Street

Richard Chittenden of Tekoa goes into citizen flagger mode in front of the wreckage of a two-car head-on collision on Main Street Colfax Tuesday night.

According to the report of Officer Chris Olin, Carl Kevin Pascual, 24, Hawaii, fell asleep while driving his 2012 Nissan Altima down Main.

He crossed the center line and ran head-on into the Honda Pilot driven by Jennifer Yearsley, 23, Moscow.

Both drivers and Elizabeth St. John, a passenger in Yearsley’s car, were transported to Whitman Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Officer Olin cited Pascual for negligent driving in the second degree.

Clean-up of the accident blocked traffic along Main for about a half hour.
