Palouse slated to decide on new principal tonight

The search for a new Palouse principal is schedule to conclude tonight, Thursday, at the Palouse school board meeting.

Incoming Palouse superintendent and head of the search effort Jake Dingman has been scheduled to nominate a final candidate to the board at tonight’s meeting.

The decision will follow a meet-and-greet session held Tuesday with the four finalists.

They include Tim Coles, a current teacher, athletic director and basketball coach at Garfield/Palouse; Dan Hutton, ag teacher and current assistant principal of K-12 at Tekoa; Edwina Hargrave, a former superintendent principal of Onion Creek, and current principal of Mill A district and special programs/SPED coordinator for Stevenson-Carson School District, and Darcy Eliason, current administrator designee for Pioneer School District and English teacher for grades 6-8.

Another finalist, Jeff Cravy, has been named a principal in the South Whidbey School District and has withdrawn from consideration.
