NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whitman County Commissioners have set the date of Monday, April 2, 2012, at 10:45 a.m.
in their Chambers, Courthouse, Colfax, WA, for a proposed amendment to the 2012 Whitman County budget.
At that time, it is requested all department heads/elected officials requesting an amendment be present.
The total amount of the proposed amended budget is approximately $59,511,597.
Copies of the proposed amendment will be available March 26, 2012 by calling 397-5240.
Disabled accommodations are accessible by using the east entrance to the Courthouse.
Upon 72 hours' advance notice the County will make arrangements to reasonably accommodate the needs of special groups of citizens, including those who are physically disabled or otherwise impaired by calling (509) 397-5240.

Request for Proposals
Whitman County Emergency Management is soliciting proposals for Microwave Radio System annual maintenance and repair services.
Vendors shall have all work performed by trained, manufacturer certified technicians.
All Testing shall be accomplished with proper test equipment as required by the Microwave manufacturer.
All maintenance work shall be fully documented in a before and after format, with photos of tower mounted equipment.
The System consists of seven (7) sites in Whitman County and the equipment is Alcatel MDR-8000 OC3 radios in a hot standby configuration operating in both 6 GHz and 11 GHz.
All Tower work shall be performed by properly certified tower crews according to OSHA rules.
Proposals shall include response time options and repair charges beyond annual preventative maintenance and alignment.

Granite Excavation, 23 Warm Lake Highway, Cascade, Idaho, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit.
The proposed project, City of Tekoa 2011 Water System Project and Henkle Street Reconstruction Project, is located along many streets within the City of Tekoa around the intersection of Crosby and Henkle Streets in the City of Tekoa, in Whitman County, Washington.
This project involves 9.5 acres of soil disturbance for Waterline utilities and roadway construction activities.
Stormwater will be discharged to Little Hangman Creek and Hangman Creek and some unnamed waterways that can discharge to one of these creeks.
Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this application, or interested in Ecology's action on this application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II antidegradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.
