Two finish police basic

Two local officers graduated Feb. 28 from the Washington Criminal Justice Training Center at Burien. Deputy Michael Jordan, who has been a reserve deputy here, and Officer Chris Olin of the Colfax Police Department received their degrees after completing the 20-week basic training course.

Sheriff Brett Myers and three other members of the department attended the ceremony for the county. Chief Bill Hickman and Officer Bryce Nebe attended for the Colfax Police Department. Nebe will be Olin’s field training officer.

Olin topped the marksmanship part of the 30-member class.

Olin was raised in the Shelton area, and Jordan was raised in Sprague.
