Snow load takes toll at golf course

This giant willow tree at the Colfax golf course was downed by the weight of snow over the weekend. Club members noted part of the tree went down Friday and the other part of it was down Saturday morning. One of the few remaining willows on the course, the tree was located about halfway down the first fairway. The willow’s wide-spread configuration, which stopped errant golf drives along the first fairway, also left it unable to cope with the snow load which hit last week. Fallen branches are also beneath several conifer trees along the course after the snow load took its toll....
