Barn calendars, cookbooks on sale to help library

Friends of Whitman County Library have reduced the price of their latest cookbook and barn calendars for the Christmas season. The newest cookbook, More Recipes From Our Friends, is now on sale for $5 and the calendar in on sale for $6.

Proceeds from all sales benefit library programs and services countywide.

The cookbook contains 840 recipes gathered from residents across the Palouse region. Jerry McCollum contributed the images for the cover, a photo of Steptoe Butte framed by a separate wheat photograph.

Stephen Van Vleet, a Friend of the Library, compiled the 2012 Barn Calendar which features photos from across Whitman County. Locations are included. Many use the calendars for a travel guide as well. Washington State University, Whitman County Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources has also partnered on this project.

The cookbooks and calendars can be obtained at any branch of Whitman County Library and Rosauers in Colfax. Calendars can also be purchased from the Pullman Chamber of Commerce and Ace Hardware in Colfax.
