Decorative painter Debi Anderson of Colfax will be featured at the first “Meet the Artist” program at the library tonight, Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. Arts Council president, she will share her tips and techniques for painting on a variety of surfaces. Meet the Artist, free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Colfax Arts Council and the Friends of Whitman County Library.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear C.J. Box Tuesday, Nov. 8, at noon in the Colfax Library as part of Everybody Reads Blue Heaven. Contact the library to order a lunch for the presentation. Attendees can also bring their own lunch or come just to listen.

Programs scheduled for the Colfax Library includes “Belly Dancing Beginners” every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Friends of Hospice Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6-7 p.m. and Third Thursday on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. A complete listing can be found online at the library’s events calendar at http://www.whitco.lib.wa.us.

Looking for a place to meet new friends? Come to the library for Play and Learn each Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. This free playgroup is open to infants, toddlers, young children and those who care for them.

All branches of Whitman County Library will close Friday, Nov. 11, for Veteran’s Day. Materials will not be due that day and the library’s website services like online requesting, renewing, ProQuest, Chilton Auto Repair Library and a live chat librarian will still be available.
