Law enforcement reports19 arrests during DUI emphasis

During the “Drive Hammered, Get Nailed” enforcement campaign conducted Aug. 19-Sept. 5 in Whitman County, officers on routine and extra patrols arrested 19 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI). Statewide, officers arrested 1,824 drivers for DUI.

Washington State University Police Department, Whitman County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol participated in the extra DUI patrols. The extra patrols were funded by a grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
