Endicott man sentenced

Robin Craig Stobie, 51, Endicott, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of third degree malicious mischief Friday morning in superior court. He was originally charged with attempted assault after officers arrested him for striking his son’s car with a garden scythe.

Stobie was sentenced to 364 days in jail with all but two suspended. He was credited with two days spent in jail after his arrest June 18. He was ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $700 and restitution which will be determined later. Preliminary estimation of damages to the car’s paint and its mirror were approximately $1,500.

The arrest report said Stobie struck the car during an argument with his son, Patrick, who was in the car with his girlfriend at the time it was struck.
