Leaders gain in ballot count

Leaders in election returns for the Aug. 16 primary added to their margin Friday morning when the elections office tallied late-arriving ballots. G. Todd Vanek now has 284 votes for Colfax mayor, and Carol Stueckle now has 228. Tom Huntwork has 181.

Largest percent gain was booked by Colfax Councilman David Nails who last week declared he was a write-in candidate in the Colfax mayoral race. He now has 100 votes compared to the 57 tallied on election night.
