Potluck set to honor Bays of Selbu Lutheran

A retirement potluck picnic honoring Selbu Lutheran’s Pastor Dennis and Marion Bay will be at LaCrosse City Park Sunday Aug. 14 at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share and join the celebration. Table service and beverages will be provided.

Ruth Dorman was treated to a surprise visit from her cousin, Sandi Ellingwood Ryland from Stubenville, Ohio, along with five of Sandi’s daughters, Margaret, Mary, Melanie, Sylvie and Elizabeth. It had been more than 30 years since Ruth had seen her cousin.

Ruth’s daughter, Glenda, and Sandi attended the same college in Michigan Glenda’s freshman year. Sandi was enroute to the coast to do some family genealogy research. Ruth had a wonderful time visiting with Sandi and her family and was delighted they took the time to stop by.

Jeannine Larkin and Debbie Casey spent three days on the Salmon River out of Riggins, Idaho, white water rafting with family and friends from Spokane and Forest Grove, Ore. The weather was great, the camping good, the river high and the rapids a whole lot of fun.
