‘Hydroplaning’ said wreck cause

William A Sargent, 39, Athena, Ore., was unhurt in a one-car accident on Highway 127 which was reportedly caused by hydroplaning during a rainstorm 10 minutes after midnight Wednesday, July 13. The Washington State Patrol report said Sargent was driving a 2003 Honda Accord southbound about five miles south of Dusty when it went out of control and struck an embankment.

—Hon S. Leung, 21, Mount Vernon, was unhurt July 13 after the 2001 BMW 330 he was driving struck a cow on Highway 26 in the LaCrosse area. Leung was driving eastbound at 9:44 p.m. when the cow walked onto the roadway from the south side of the road, according to the WSP report.

—Emily McGregor, 24, Pullman, sustained bumps and bruises after she lost control of a 1971 Chevrolet pickup while driving southbound on Highway 27 at 7:30 p.m. July 12 five miles north of Garfield. According to the WSP report, the pickup rolled several times and came to a stop on its wheels after it drifted off the highway.
