Extensions plans crop tour

Spokane County’s WSU Extension office has planned a day-long tour of cover crop fields next Monday, July 11. The tour will spotlight use of oats, peas, vetch, clover, mustard and other crops as cover for spring grains.

The tour begins at 8 a.m. on Wood Road near Deep Creek off Highway 2. It then proceeds to Sprague and Cheney, wrapping up at the Belsby farm on Belsby Road north of Pine City.

The tour is free and open to anyone interested, but a catered lunch will cost attendees $8.
