Palouse council okays purchase of police car

The Palouse police department is in the process of purchasing a used patrol vehicle after the town council May 10 voted to let Chief Jerry Neumann bid for a vehicle.

Neumann is looking to replace one of the department’s four vehicles. Neumann told the Gazette he hopes to buy a used Dodge Charger and then apply the appropriate law enforcement markings.

The car will replace the department’s unmarked Dodge Intrepid.

“We will surplus the Intrepid. We wanted a more high visibility vehicle for policing,” Neumann said.
