Over 100 students enter science fair






















More than 100 students sawed, glued and stitched together displays for the annual Colfax Science Fair April 21.

Judges from the Colfax community and the WSU Animal Science department came to the Jennings Elementary to review the entries and select the award winners.

The Parent Teacher Organization of Colfax organized the event, with Heather Meyer as fair coordinator.

Kindergarten through sixth grade participated in the event.

Kindergarten through fifth grade participation was optional, but fair entries for sixth graders were mandatory.

Top three to four winners in each grade received trophies.

All entrants received a participation award and were all invited to an ice cream party.

The winners who received trophies by grade category are as follows: Kindergarten—Angie Anglum, Christopher Bullock, Tess Lewis, Emilia Meyer.

First grade- Dyamin Vanek, Jorga Koerner, Nathan de Avilla, McCoy Nelson.

Second grade— Reid McGraw, Mark Morgan, Brianna Fudge.

Third grade— Brandon Lustig, Hayden Fulfs, Kennedy King.

Fourth grade— Kylie Kackman, Jenna Harwood, Rosie Meyer and Kanoa Braunger.

Fifth grade— Emily Fletcher, Ashley Goebel, Airelle Girmaund, Kiah Miller, Marie Benedetti.

Sixth grade—Josh Goebel, Regan Meyer, Lauren Claassen, Hope de Avilla.
