TV Free week challenge

Whitman County Library is challenging children to go without television for a week in honor of TV Turn Off Week, April 18-24. The Friend’s of the Library will award a free book to each youngster who meets the challenge.

A report by the American Academy of Pediatrics says the average child watches 3 to 4 hours of television per day. At that rate, each youngster may view 8,000 murders on television before finishing grade school.
