Thrifty Grandmothers April 2011 meeting

Colfax Thrifty Grandmothers met April 11 at CETC Building at 1:30 pm. with 20 members present. Contributions approved by members for January through April included: Colfax & Community Fund: $5,000; Whitman Co. Chaplaincy: $200 monthly; Special fund for students: $500 .; Palouse HIV Conservative: $500; Colfax Jr. Miss Scholarship Fund: $200; Relay for Life: $300; Teens of the Nazarene: $250; Memorial for Elmira Gudmunson to Teens of the Nazarene; and FISH food bank: $250.

The club donations derive from sale of items from the club’s Thrift Store.

Elections were held and members installed Bonnie Smith, president; Rosie Schluneger, vice-president; Millie Repp, secretary, and Shirley Simmons, treasurer.

Store hours are Tuesdays and Fridays: 10 to 4 and Saturdays, 10 to 1.

Gates for accepting donations at the back of the store will be open from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. during the summer. The next meeting will be May 9.
