Grace Druffel wins Colton-Uniontown title

Three young women took the stage in Colton April 2 to demonstrate their many talents in the 2012 Distinguished Young Women’s “Step to It” program.

Grace Druffel, Haley Moser and Erin Weber performed together in an energetic opening dance number, fitness and self expression routines.Grace Druffel was awarded the top honors of the evening earning a $500 scholarship to a college of her choice.

She is considering University of Oregon or University of Washington and plans to become a registered nurse.

Haley Moser was selected for the Spirit Award and 1st Alternate position.

She earned $300 toward the school of her choice.

Erin Weber earned $100 toward her Criminal Justice and Criminology degree studies at University of Louisville.

All three are varsity athletes in two or more sports, Honor Society members and active in the community.

Special guest appearances were made by 2011 Colton-Uniontown’s Junior Miss, Mikayla Nygreen, First Alternate Mollie Kramer and Washington State Distinguished Young Woman Rianne Jones, Emcee CJ Becker provided lively commentary and intermission dance routines were performed by the Rising Stars Dance Studio’s Colton’s ballet troupe.

This year’s program was chaired and choreographed by Jane Ann Nagle with the support of many volunteers and donors.
