Hospital highlights - Hellos, Congratulations and Good Byes

We welcome Jesse Johnson as our new Lifeguard in the Aquatics program. An Oakesdale High School student, Jesse came to us with prior lifeguarding experience at Oakesdale Parks & Recreation.

Benjamin Winters is new in the Laboratory. Ben is working weekends in the Lab until he completes his medical technology internship at Providence Sacred Heart. Upon completion of that course, he will become a full time MT for Whitman. Mr. Winters received his Bachelors Degree in Microbiology/Med Tech from WSU where he also worked as a research assistant for a short time.

New in Radiology is student Janae St. John. She will be holding a supplemental position in Radiology with the hopes of eventual part or full time employment if and when that opportunity arises. Janae is an Asotin High School graduate and is currently attending Lewis-Clark State College with a focus on Radiographic Science. She expects to graduate this May.

Wayne Thompson, RN, recently joined the Emergency Department staff in a supplemental position. Thompson will also do supplemental work as House Supervisor. A graduate of Spokane Community College/ Spokane Falls Community College, Wayne gained ED experience at Holy Family Hospital where he also maintains current employment.

Ruth Heisler has been promoted to Food Service Manager following the retirement of Audie Guidi last month. Ruth holds credentials with the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers within the Dietary Managers Association and has been employed as a cook by WHMC since 1994.

Michael Reynolds has advanced from Medical Lab Technician to Medical Technologist after his diligent study and recent testing.

Long term Masters of Social Work Jim Rippy spent his last day at WHMC earlier this month. Jim was contracted to provide Social Work consulting back in the early 1980s. He has also provided valued counseling to members of our staff.

Replacing Rippy will be Blake Beecher, MSW. Beecher will also provide consulting and review of our own Social Worker activities and will continue with employee counseling.
