Winter’s last ride?

More snow socked in much of the east side of Whitman County Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Power outages were recorded in some parts of Colfax Monday night and schools in Colfax and Steptoe opened two hours late Tuesday. Garfield/Palouse initially slated a two-hour delay for Tuesday but later closed school for the day. Pullman, Potlatch, Colton and Troy schools were also closed for the day.

The National Weather service station at the Pullman-Moscow Airport recorded 15.5 inches of snow as of 6:40 a.m. Tuesday. Another reading from Palouse recorded eight inches of snow fell Monday night. Snow...
