Colfax defensive clamp shuts down Reardan hosts

Colfax boys basketball, rolling off a 2-0 show last week in the Yakima SunDome, posted another version of their second-half clamp Tuesday for a 64-38 win in a return to league play at Reardan.

Colfax now stands 3-0 in league play and 6-1 overall. The Bulldogs will return to their home gym Friday after a three-week absence to host the Chargers from Mary Walker of Springdale.

The Bulldogs opened with a 9-18 mark on three point shots with JJ Robinson hitting four in the first half and Kyle Johnson hitting three.

Robinson led Colfax scorers, again with 19 points.

Trevor Peone, who landed a trio of threebies for the Indians, led Reardan with 16.

North Mason led by eight points, 31-23 at the break, but Colfax for the second night in a row put on the defensive clamps to hold the coast club to 11 beans over the last two quarters.

Colfax defense plucked 25 turnovers off the N-M squad for the game. Robinson, who hit six from the floor, let the Bulldogs with 19.
