Cheer baskets mark 75th year

ROSALIA

A holiday tradition at Rosalia marked its 75th anniversary when members of Rosalia Garden Club gathered and prepared cheer baskets for 59 people in the community last week. This is done for people who have suffered from cancer, heart problems or other diseases or who have recently had to deal with a death in their family.

The cheer basket program was started in 1935 by Mabel Clayton Boozer.

Rosalia residents going to the home of Tim and Vicki Charles at St. Maries for Christmas were Dave and Tanya Charles and Rayna Charles, Betty Morris and Mike Day. Also present from St. Maries were Pete and Shena Ratcliffe and Kenny and Shawna Charles.

Others present were Tiffany Charles and Hallie Whitmire of Coeur d’Alene, and Kyle McQuillin of Cheney.
