Cramer will perform at Dahmen Barn

Hank Cramer, one of the best-loved folksingers in the Pacific Northwest, will perform at Dahmen Barn in Uniontown Saturday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Hank has performed full-time the last 10 years on national tours. His trademarks are a booming bass voice, a wry sense of humor and smooth picking on a vintage flat-top guitar. He performs a wide repertoire of traditional music from the American and Canadian frontiers, including the songs of cowboys, miners, soldiers, railroad men, sailors and drifters. He has recorded 19 CDs, three music videos and two movie sound-tracks

Admission will be $10 at the door.

INBC Blood Stop

A mobile collection unit from the Inland Northwest Blood Center will be at the Colfax Library Dec. 21, from 2 to 6 p.m. Donors can enter to win a vacation package plus a travel voucher. All donors will get an INBC T-shirt.

Appointments are being taken by calling the library or online at http://www.inbcsaves. org. Priority will be given to those with pre-scheduled appointments; walk-ins will be seen on a first come, first serve basis with photo I.D. required.

Farmington library

Farmington Library has Friends Cookbooks and barn calendars for sale for that last last minute gifts or to share with friends and family. The cookbook contains receipes from cooks all around Whitman County

The barn calendars offer a wonderful variety of barn pictures from rural Whitman County.

Farmington hours are Tuesdays 2-6 and Thursdays 2-6. Storytime for pre-school meets every Tuesday at 2 and Teen Club meets the third Thursday at 4 p.m.

Thrifty Grandmothers

Eighteen members of the Thrifty Grandmothers attended their Christmas luncheon at the Methodist Church Monday. A gate has been placed at the back of the store. Donations are welcome when the gate is open.

Pierce son born

A boy, Jacob Daniel, was born Dec. 6, 2010, at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, to Martha Pierce and Daniel DeClue. Maternal grandparents are James and Susan Murray. Paternal grandparents are Fred and Hope DeClue. Weighing seven pounds, one ounces at birth, the baby joins sisters, Emily and Brianna.

Davis son born

A boy, Dillon Gregory, was born Dec. 8, 2010, at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, to Trista and Corey Davis. Maternal grandparents are Gloria Wehmeyer, Colfax, and Vincent Harshaw, Spokane. Paternal grandparents are Jack and Cheryll Davis, Spokane. Weighing eight pounds, 15 ounces at birth, the baby joins one brother, Couper.
