Pullman theatre plans winter show, auditions

Regional Theatre of the Palouse will conduct auditions for Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods,” a musical from a collection of popular Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Auditions are Dec. 7 and Dec. 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the RTOP Theatre, 122 N. Grand Ave. in Pullman. Actors should enter through the stage door at the rear of the building.

Those auditioning should prepare to sing a short song, preferably in the style of the show and bring the sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Scenes and music from “Into the Woods” will be given for callbacks which will be Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

“Into the Woods” will be performed in April. It has roles for 11 females and 7 males. Roles range in age from 16 years and older.

The theatre will present a musical revue of holiday music and songs from its recent show, “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas,” Friday to coincide with Pullman’s annual Tree Lighting Celebration.

Free shows will be at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the RTOP Theater, 122 N. Grand Ave. in Pullman. RTOP is a nonprofit organization and donations will be accepted. There will also be a bin available for those wishing to make a donation of non-perishable food for the community holiday food drive.
