Tekoa/Oakesdale moved to 4-0 in SE net play with a match win at Colton in four games Tuesday. The `hawks broke out to a lone spot atop the league after Garfield/Palouse stopped Pomeroy’s early string on the Pirates’ court with an amazing comeback.
LaCrosse/Washtucna booked their first win Tuesday, and the SJE Eagles prevailed in a battle with Rosalia.
Tekoa/Oakesdale and Pomeroy are slated to clash in the league round tonight at Tekoa.
TEKOA/OAKESDALE Tuesday at Colton stumbled 16-25 in the first game but came on strong with a 25-17 25-21 and 26-24 run in the next three games to take the match.
Kaela Dewan put up 28 assists and had five digs against the Wildcats. Cassy Mendoza had 12 kills and Alex Overton booked 10 kills for a strong front line attack. Eden Anderson had six blocks.
Mollie Kramer had 12 digs and 4 kills for Colton, and Mackenzie Heaslet had three blocks.
In the Thursday round, the `hawks defeated Rosalia in four games 25-20 26-15 23-25 and 25-15.
Mendosa pegged 17 kills, two blocks and six aces for the `hawks and Dewan had 32 assists.
Briann Maley had five kills for the Spartans.
GARFIELD/PALOUSE bounced out of a 0-2 hole at Pomeroy Tuesday to win the next three games and stop the Pirates early win string at three matches. .
Line for the Vikings’ comeback win was 15-25 18-25 26-24 25-24 and 15-11.
ST. JOHN/ENDICOTT and Rosalia battled through five games on the Eagles’ court Tuesday with the hosts taking the fifth game decider 15-13. Gretchen Van Lith had 17 kills for the Eagles, and Carmen Lust put up 30 assists.
Briann Maley booked eight kills for the Spartans and had three blocks, and Lucy Irish had seven assists.
The Eagles hosted the home match after defeating Garfield/Palouse in four games in the Thursday round at Palouse. Line score for the win was 25-19 25-15 17-25 and 25-16.
Alli Winters booked 16 kills and 24 digs for the Eagles, and Carmen Lust had 30 assists. Emily Jones had four blocks.
Kaycie Adair had four aces for the Vikings, and Madisyn Woltering had six kills.
After winning game three, the Vikings took a 3-0 lead in the fourth game with Sara Wilson at the serve line. The Eagles came back with Sami Bailey serving and pulled out to an 8-4 lead on the way to taking the match.
LaCROSSE/WASHTUCNA Tuesday took a four-game home win over Touchet for their first match victory. The Chiefs took the first game 24-21, but the Tigercats bounced back to take the next three, 35-17 25-22 and 26-24.
Coach Sandy Martin noted the 25-17 was actually the first game win for her young club.
Annie Fleming had 25 assists and Logan Harder put down 15 kills for the Tigercats.
Brazilian exchange student, Julie Arruda, booked four digs and a stuff for the blue club.
