Hospital highlights -Scholarships Awarded

The hospital has many assets but our biggest strength is our highly qualified and dedicated staff. One of our goals is to attract, engage and retain great caregivers. We know that this is the only way we can meet our mission to provide excellent healthcare for our communities.

One method we use to attain this goal is to provide scholarships to staff members who are continuing their education in a health-related field. To qualify, staff must submit an application that describes why they are pursing more education and lists their educational goals. They must also make a commitment to continue working at WHMC after they complete their training and describe how their training will benefit the hospital. We see this as a win-win investment for the individual and the hospital. These scholarships are provided from operating funds and not through tax funds. This year’s recipients listed below.

Jessica Davis, Certified Nursing Assistant, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to assist with her continuing education at Walla Walla Community college aimed at a nursing degree.

Beau Fisher, Certified Nursing Assistant, was also awarded a $1,000 scholarship to aid with his nursing education at Lewis-Clark State College.
