Jake Clements earns Marine training honors

Private First Class Jacob Loy Clements, 21, of St. John, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego May 28, 2010. PFC Clements successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at San Diego as the Series Honorman of Bravo Company, Platoon 1030. This honor was earned for demonstrating extraordinary leadership performance of duties during all phases of academic and military training.

PFC Clements was recognized during the graduation ceremony with five other Platoon Guide Leaders out of the 200 new Marines for this Commendation. He also earned an ‘expert marksmanship’ award. Following ten days of leave he reported back to Camp Pendleton for one month at Military Combat Training where he earned the Platoon Leader position again, graduating July 6th. He is now at Ft. Lee, Va., where he is attending special training for two months.
