Fish & Wildlife posts results of permits draw

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife last week announced the results of its random drawing for 2010 special hunt permits.

Dave Ware, game division manager, said more than 230,000 applications for special permits were submitted this year for special hunt sessions for deer, elk moose and big horn sheep.

Ware said the decision to allow hunters to submit applications for multiple categories boosted the number of applications. Last year, 125,000 applied for permits.

Those chosen for the special hunt will receive their permits by mail later this month.
