Colfax Methodist Pancake Breakfast

On July 10, from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the Methodist Church will host its annual pancake breakfast to help raise funds for the Whitman County Chaplaincy Program. Each year volunteers from the Methodist Church work hard to set up and cook a delicious breakfast for attendees.

I have been the Whitman County Sheriff’s Chaplain for 12 years and have always been impressed with the work and the attendance at these breakfasts. The food is great and there is also an opportunity to see friends and catch up on the latest news. We never know what to expect in the way of entertainment. Sometimes there is a guest speaker or a talented musician to play for us.

I appreciate the annual donation to the Chaplaincy Program and will use it to spread the gospel of Christ and display compassion to those victims who have gone through a crisis event. My Deputy Chaplain, Brian Conklin, also serves Whitman County and especially his town of Garfield. He serves as the Pastor of Garfield Community Church and as the Garfield Fire Chief. Through these opportunities he reaches out to others when they need him. Brian continues to be a valuable asset in the Chaplaincy program.

I hope that you will take time to attend this breakfast. There are many benefits, especially to those families who are facing times of grief and loss and are in need of a chaplain. Thank you for your prayers and support!
