Hospital highlights - A Whole ‘Nother Level!

Your Hospital District Commissioners have adopted new mission, vision and values statements for WHMC. These new statements are bold and challenging. They will take us to a whole ‘nother level!

Our new mission is: To provide excellent healthcare for our communities.

Please note that your Commissioners expect our care to be superb and that our mission is to care for all the communities we serve. The Commissioners added an explanatory statement to further clarify their intent: Our hospital exists to improve the health of others by providing excellent hospital and related services.

This means our reason for being is focused on the health of our patients. It also means that we will stick to providing hospital and closely-related services and not branch into other lines of business.

Our new vision is: To be the best we can possibly be.

The commissioners’ explanatory statement is: As a leader in innovative, caring, personalized healthcare, our goal is to be the best Critical Access Hospital in the nation.

Wow…now that’s a vision for you! It will be an exciting journey as we strive to be the absolute best. If you have ideas about what the best rural hospital in the nation would be like, please share your ideas with your Commissioners, our staff members or me.

Our new vales and the explanatory statements are:

* Respect – We respect the dignity of each individual at all times.

* Compassion – We demonstrate our sincere compassion to all.

* Teamwork – We recognize, embrace and capitalize on the unique talents of everyone.

* Stewardship – We are prudent, careful and deliberate with all resources.

* Trustworthiness – We act with integrity and honor in all situations.

In the coming months, we will determine how we are going to shape our destiny along these new guidelines. I encourage you to share your thoughts with us so we can achieve the vision and provide you with the best rural hospital possible. We will let you know how we are progressing.
