Mud flies at LaCrosse

The jeep of Dan Hughes of the Tri-Cities flings mud skyward during Sunday’s portion of the LaCrosse Mud Bog held last weekend. Twenty-eight drivers from all over eastern Washington hit the filthy muck-filled track south of LaCrosse over the weekend, competing in drag races and seeing whose rig can inundate the atmosphere with the most mud. Emcee Ed Casey said the event raised more than $1,800 from admissions and concessions over its two-day run, as spectators flooded the flooded field to watch the mud fly. Proceeds go to the Richard L. Roberts Memorial Scholarship.
