Honors to top survey scorers

At WHMC, we understand that you entrust us with your health and the health of your loved ones. We try very hard to be worthy of your trust at all times. One tool we use to ensure we honor this special trust is to measure the service we provide with patient surveys. We use a survey service that compares us to over 1800 hospitals nationwide. For the first quarter I am happy to report that WHMC outscored 96 percent of hospitals nation-wide overall. This was based on 73 returned patient surveys which was a 44 percent return rate.

Each quarter we celebrate our commitment to you with a special event. We honor groups of individuals for specific scores and recognize some caregivers who set the standard for the rest of us.

For the first quarter our Excellence Award went to our Admitting Department (Julie Sevedge, Manager) for their results on a question regarding courtesy of the person who admitted the patient; they outscored 98 percent of all hospitals.

The Above and Beyond Award was given to the Environmental Services Department (Carol Larson, Manager) for a survey question about room cleanliness; they outscored 96 percent of all hospitals.

The You Make a Difference Award was shared by Nursing Services (Ronda Warren, Manager) and Social Services (Shana Cathey, Social Worker) for several questions related to attention to personal needs and readiness to return home; they outscored 98 percent of hospitals.

The Pillar of Excellence Award went to the Laboratory Department (Heather Reathaford, Manager) and Best Supporting Department was earned by the Business Office (Julie Sevedge, Manager).
