Realtors honor Gordon, Rogers; install officers

The Whitman County Realtors association has named Michael J. Gordon of Summit Realty as 2009 Realtor of the Year and Julie Rogers of Dave Christy State Farm Insurance as 2009 affiliate of the year. The honors were announced at the January meeting of the association.

The association also installed 2010 officers, including Chris Clark, president; Olga Diaz Potter, vice president; Lis Nelson, secretary, and Keith Kincaid, treasurer.

Gordon, a Pullman resident for almost 24 years, began a career in real estate in 1993 when he joined Summit, then owned by Steve and Karen Swoopes, who were long-time family friends. He became a partner in 1995 and along with is wife, Jeannette, purchased the company when the Swoopes decided to retire in 1997. He was also voted for the realtor of the year honor in 1998 and 2007.

Jeannette, also a licensed realtor, manages the office and the property management side of the business

Rogers moved to Pullman in 2005 from Michigan and worked for Dave Christy State Farm since August of that year and became a licensed sales person after one year. She is now working on getting certification to be a Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow. She has been a member of the association for three years.
